

MR THABO MAKAMANE - CHAIRPERSON
Mr Makamane is currently employed as an HR Manager. He possesses leadership and strategic management, financial management and labour relations skills. He previously worked as Head of community corrections and the Head of correctional centre.
He holds a Diploma and Higher Diploma in Management. He has also successfully completed a post graduate certificate in Executive management and the Management Development Programme. He has certificates in project management, EAP and paralegal studies.

MR BRIAN SALTERS - VICE CHAIRPERSON
Mr Salters is an Artisan by profession. He currently works as a Machine Tool Machanician and worker representative. He serves on his employer’s benefits committee. The committee deals with medical issues, hence Mr Salters’ in-depth understanding of the medical scheme industry.
He holds a BA degree in Economics, business Management and industrial psychology, a certificate in Labour Law from Rhodes University and was a Trade tested Artisan and a Machine tool technician.

MR DENNIS McCARTHY
Mr McCarthy is a retired Chartered Management Accountant with over 40 years of experience in industry and commerce. He has served as Financial Manager/Director for a number of companies internationally and in South Africa. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and currently chairs the Audit Committee for the Africa Region of the Institute. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD). He has served as a member on numerous sub-committees including Finance, Audit and Risk and Investment, and was a Principal Officer of a pension fund. He acted as a Trustee within Sizwe Medical Fund for two two terms during 2004-2010.
He holds an MBA from WITS Graduate School of Business Administration.

DR. TREVOR TERBLANCHE
As a medical officer, Dr Terblanche ran a private solo General Practice and served as an Executive chair of both the E-C Med Guild and E-Cape IPA. He previously worked as a Clinical Risk manager, a Chief Executive Officer, the CEO of the SA Medical Association and senior lecture at the University of Pretoria Family Medicines Department.

He holds an MB.Ch.B from the University of Cape Town, a certificate in negotiation and an Advanced Management Diploma from the Foundation of Professional Development.

ROUXAN LE ROUX
Mr Le-Roux is currently employed as Risk Manager and has served as the Chairman and Principal Officer of Communicare Provident Fund.
His work experience include fraud prevention, corporate governance and risk management.
He holds a Higher Diploma in Management Practice and Honours Degree in Social Work obtained from UNISA

LOUIS HATTINGH
Mr Hattingh is currently employed as Managing Director at Mega Built It. He has served on several boards including the Funds EXCO and Finance Committees. Between 2006 and 2007 he was chairman of Sizwe Medical Fund Board. He was also Chairperson of General Motors Pension & Provident Fund and a Trustee of MSP Medical Aid Fund.
His qualifications include an IAC – 3 year Post Matric Diploma in Business Management and an MDP which he obtained from the University of Cape Town.

FLOYD MATHIBELA
Mr Mathibela’s work experience includes investment product development and product life-cycle management.
He has been involved in developing appropriate investment strategies for medical schemes, pension funds, retail mutual funds as well as other investment entities.
He was previously a Mathematics and Additional Mathematics teacher and also served as a member of the South African Mathematics Foundation, which aims to promote mathematics awareness in South Africa.

DORA MALULEKA
Ms Maluleka is currently working as a Unit Secretary/SDF. She served as a board member of Tlhavhama Training Initiative. She also served as a board secretary of the Tivoneleni Vavasati AIDS awareness project, the Shirley Pre School Committee and Elim High School SGB. Ms Maluleka was also a member of the Sol Plaatjie (ELIM) ANC branch executive committee and the treasurer of the SACP Lenin branch.
She holds an N4 National Diploma in computer studies, a secretarial diploma, a course in conflict resolution and a course in warehouse and store management

JANINE MOSETLHI
Ms Mosetlhi is the Managing Director of Dara Consulting, a firm that provides Governance training and support, International Disaster Risk Reduction Legislation research & analysis, sustainable CSR programme development, implementation and monitoring, and BBB-EE compliance support. Janine previously worked for Gildenhuys Malatji Attorneys and for the International Committee of the Red Cross where she was the Head of Communications responsible for the development and implementation of International Humanitarian Law and humanitarian intervention in Southern Africa, the Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles.
She holds an LLB from Wits & is a sponsor of the Symphony Choir, an avid runner and bibliophile

SIMANGELE GUMBI
Ms Gumbi’s current position is a Shaft steward. Over the years Ms Gumbi’s has gained experience in serving as a PR councillor (Finance portfolio), the National Women’s structure treasurer (Finance Committee), the branch Deputy Chairperson and the Branch Secretary (Education portfolio). Ms Gumbi previously served as a member of the Sizwe Medical Fund task team. She is also the ANCWL branch Chairperson and Branch co-ordinator for Wellness.
She holds qualifications in Labour Law. She has completed various courses which include Leadership; Community projects and Finance.
